The Noble War || Remy & Wendel

wendel-alti:

“So how’s your training going? It must be hard… When I did it there were times when I just wanted to walk out and… yeah, and security wasn’t even that strict back then… Why did you join the resistance in the first place? Did something happen to your family? Or.. would you like something to eat? I’ll go get some food.”

The rate at which he was speaking at didn’t allow Wendel to interrupt and before he knew it, Remy had left as soon as, hiding away in the kitchen. He breathed a sigh and took another swig of the beer, calming himself down from the sudden rush of “small talk”. Frankly, Wendel didn’t care that much over Remy, he was sure that he had his own agendas to take care of as well as he did, though he did need to start training soon - providing that his trainers were there. That would’ve helped wouldn’t it? Rolling his eyes, his thoughts went back to Remy and how he reacted. It reminded him of something similar, something very so close and it hit him: Girls. How they acted around him, all innocent and flustered. Wendel scoffed and choked on his drink for a second. Was he gay? He asked in his head as he took a quick look at the man behind him, before looking forward again. It wasn’t the first time that Wendel had had a man appreciate his good looks before and certainly had the experience of batting for the other team, but seeing as he was a rank higher than him in the Resistance, it suddenly became a lot more awkward.

“Hey.”

Wendel pulled a small smile, his thoughts swirling around in his head. Though to him, it really didn’t matter, because they were just sitting here, he could be wrong.

“Would you like one?”

“Um…” Taking a look at the bowl of sugar coated strawberries, he shook his head slowly. Strawberries didn’t really compliment the taste of beer, but before he could protest, Remy had placed one on his lips, gently pushing the pressure down. He sat awkwardly, wondering what to do. And he made his move more instantly, than thinking it. He was stupid, he knew that and liked to tease people, so he moved slowly forward, teeth grazing the skin of the fruit before biting it at the most excruciating pace. The sugar exploded in his mouth along with the tangy strawberry taste underlying it. Although he didn’t really care for the taste in his mouth, but a certain amount of pleasure built up in him, especially with the success of pulling it off. He was an idiot for continuing, placing his hand firmly on the inside of his leg, bringing himself closer to Remy; light enough to be friendly, but hard enough to suggest. “Do you want a taste?” He almost laughed at how ridiculous this was, his voice so flirtatious. This wasn’t his first time, but still couldn’t believe that he was doing this. At least he was being himself and the awkward tension had defused for him.

Remy didn’t know what he saw in the boy. He liked women, mainly. He had had drunken flings with guys before, but tonight he was sober. Or was he? He had drunk beer, so… The sight of Wendel’s mouth engulfing the strawberry made him want to jump the boy right there and then, but he still wasn’t sure what was happening. He had lost control for a second, and now everything was moving so fast. Was Wendel gay? Is he really gay? All Remy knew was that he wanted him, and apparently Wendel was down for it. He felt the boy’s lips brush against his fingertips, and his hot breath left him tingling deep down. A certain sensation rose within him, and he could feel himself hardening under his tight jeans, especially when the boy spoke.

“Do you want a taste?”

Wendel’s hand was on his thigh, so close to his crotch that temptation was causing him physical pain. Remy had never wanted a man so much before in his entire life; even on those wild nights of his youth, when there was a plethora of ridiculously attractive men lining up to have him, he hadn’t wanted them as much as he wanted Wendel. But something felt wrong about this. Wendel had all the power. Remy was the weaker one, here, and that had to change. He hated being the submissive one in any relationship; it probably had something to do with his parents’ authoritarian twist on child rearing, but it hadn’t worked out too bad for him. At least it got him ahead at work, his ability to fight to be the one pulling the strings.

Remy wanted a taste, so he pushed Wendel’s hand away from his leg but kept hold of his wrist. He turned in his seat, sliding closer to Wendel and then pressed their lips together hard. The awkwardness was gone, to some degree. Remy could still taste the lingering tang of strawberry and sweetness of the sugar on the trainee’s tongue as his own danced with it within the warmth of their mouths. Remy’s hand moved to the boy’s chest, feeling the sculpted muscles beneath and he smiled into the kiss, glad that he had opened the door instead of staying in his room and moping about how shit everything is.

The Noble War || Remy & Wendel

wendel-alti:

“Would you like a beer?”

He certainly didn’t mind one, but he didn’t really want one either. But before he could complain he caught the beer can Remy had thrown to him, catching it with quick reflexes and nicely in such a small amount of space between them. Seeing as the man opposite of him had opened his can, he thought it’d be rude to decline the drink and opened his drink too. The can opened with a beautiful crack, releasing a fizzle sound that oozed into the air beautifully. He smiled lightly. Simple pleasures were nice, and he preferred them to most of the Capitol and how they over indulged on anything possible. Wendel just like challenges.

“So, Wendel, how’s life?”

A rather vague question, isn’t that? The thought shot through his brain, causing a judgement to be made. He was only human, it took 30 seconds of one’s appearance to create a judgement of the other being. Wendel simply shrugged, how else could he reply? The rain had rather dampened his spirits, he had grown a little tired and bored, not because of Remy, but because there was nothing to do. He wanted to go home just to sleep. Sleeping was nice, although it could become boring, finding out that you’re laying down for at least a quarter of your day. What a waste. He could hear the awkwardness in his voice, and smiled softly, meaning no harm at all. At least he wasn’t the only one who felt out of place.

“Do you want to go into the lounge? It’s a lot more comfortable. But take your shoes off.”

He nodded, but before he could begin to walk out of the way, Remy had already brushed past him to the sofa. He put the beer on the table, before proceeding to take his shoes off, gave Aude one last rub of his head and followed the man into the room. He sat on the sofa on the far side opposite of Remy, before the flickering fire between the both of them. Taking the can to his lips, he tasted the bitter taste of it, savouring the flavour that was washing in his mouth before he swallowed it, his Adam’s apple bobbing up and down at its own pace. “Well, this is a nice place.” He tried his best at idle chitchat, but it wasn’t that good. Either he was rude or… yep. But he didn’t want to be, so he tried harder. “This fireplace is beautiful,” he said, complimenting the place. He didn’t care that much, but his parents had known such things and he recognized it too.

“Well, this is a nice place. This fireplace is beautiful.”

What? What the hell? “Yeah, the fireplace is great,” Remy said with a little confusion. He could only assume that the boy was making small talk, and that just happened to be Remy’s least favourite pastime, so he tried to stray the conversation somewhere better. “So how’s your training going? It must be hard… When I did it there were times when I just wanted to walk out and… yeah, and security wasn’t even that strict back then… Why did you join the resistance in the first place? Did something happen to your family? Or..” Remy couldn’t stop the words from flowing from his mouth, which refused to close. Stop. “Would you like something to eat?” Had he already asked this? The conversation resembled more of a train wreck now than just simply awkward. Okay, go. “I’ll go get some food.” Remy hopped off of the comfy sofa and made his way quickly out to the kitchen where he could calm down a little. His face felt flushed and his knees weak. Why? What the hell is happening? He poured a glass of water for himself and downed it as though he had been lying in a desert for week.

Wendel’s dog, Aude, was lying in the corner of the room, and Remy walked over to pet it. It was an adorable creature, and it was even more adorable how Wendel seemed so devoted to it. Wendel was a nice guy, he supposed. Although the awkwardness was unsettling, more because he had no idea where it was all coming from. Something about the boy threatened him, or maybe it was just the effect he had on Remy? Either way, none of it was good.

Remembering he needed to bring food back he snatched a bowl of sugared strawberries off of the counter and hesitantly made his way back to the lounge where Wendel still sat on the sofa. “Hey,” he smiled, for some reason because they had already greeted eachother. For goodness’ sake, Remy. He took his seat again next to Wendel and picked a strawberry out of the bowl. It was delicious, as they always were. Everything edible in the Capitol was incredible. He had sampled some of the stuff they had to eat in the districts and his tastebuds were still recovering from the horror of it all.

“Would you like one?” Always so polite, Remy. He found himself passing a strawberry to the boy, but some other emotion took control of his motor senses and he was watching himself place the strawberry slowly against Wendel’s soft looking lips. The way the lower lip moved slightly with the slight pressure from the strawberry, and the little twitch in his cheek sent shivers down Remy’s spine. He eyes the boy with curiosity, wondering what was happening - what he was doing - but feeling no urge to stop.

The Noble War || Remy & Wendel

wendel-alti:

“Shut up and get inside.”

A huge grin spread across his face as he replied with such bluntness. Reactions were interesting to Wendel and beautiful at that. Angry reactions were the best, especially when you were calm yourself. It was hilarious to watch. He walked in patiently, alongside Aude, watching his shake the water off his coat and breathing heavily. Wendel could only laugh lightly, brushing his fur down lightly. It definitely was warm in here, or was it just completely freezing outside? It didn’t matter now. He made a move to make sure that Aude sat and behaved. He still was in someone else’s house and he didn’t have to let someone like Wendel in. He was still respecting authority… to some degree.

“So, you’re a trainee? You can stay here until the weather clears up, but then you need to go.”

Wendel nodded lightly, his instructions seemed fair and just.

“Do you want something to drink? Eat? You can just leave your coat anywhere. But your dog… Put the dog in the kitchen, it’s just through there.”

He slowly peeled the grey, warm coat off him and hung it on one of the many hooks. And the kitchen? That sure was a weird place to leave a dog, especially as big as Aude. At least he was allowed inside he supposed, and that was all that mattered. Shrugging, he clicked his fingers for him to follow into the kitchen and bent down to his level. “Now, you’re going to be a good boy, aren’t you?” In reply, he earned a lick to the face, which made Wendel laugh out loud. “Come on, boy.” With a few more reassuring tries and softening of the fur, attempting to dry him with a random towel he had found. He hoped that Remy didn’t mind. He wasn’t muddy… much. He was mostly dry now, and sat down quietly. Wendel quickly passed a chew toy to play with before turning to face Remy.

“And I’m not particularly hungry or thirsty, but…” He trailed off at the sight of the beer in front of him. “But yeah.” He wasn’t going to be terribly rude today.

Behind him, Remy could hear the boy talking to his dog. How strange, he thought. The relationships people had with their pets had always fascinated him. It seemed so strange that one could become so intensely attached to an animal that really does not reciprocate any of those feelings, apart from loyalty, perhaps. He turned around and his eyes immediately fell upon the ruined towel. “My tow-” Remy stopped himself. He loved his towels, but he didn’t want to seem unstable in front of the boy. Although, Remy was the one with authority here. God, he was such a sissy.

“And I’m not particularly hungry or thirsty, but… But yeah.”

My fucking towel. You will suffer for this. “But yeah?” Remy didn’t understand what the boy - Wendel, was it? - was saying, but then he followed his gaze to the counter where a box of beer cans sat. “Oh,” he understood now. Was the kid even old enough to drink alcohol? “Would you like a beer?” Remy asked, his words laced with sarcasm as he walked over to the box and pulled out two cans. He tossed one over to where Wendel stood, and opened his own, hearing the crack and hiss.

“So, Wendel,” Remy said after taking a sip of the bitter liquid. When are you going to buy me a new towel? “How’s life?” He had no idea what to say or ask, he was awkward in the best of situations but this was just something else entirely. 2Do you want to go into the lounge? It’s a lot more comfortable. But take your shoes off.” If his carpet was ruined there would be hell to pay. Especially as he was still mourning the untimely loss of a good towel. Remy squeezed past Wendel, who for some reason was standing in the doorway between the kitchen and hall, but as he squeezed past he felt his body brush against the boy’s very firm behind. Wow. For a second Remy was distracted, his mind going somewhere it really shouldn’t be going, but he quickly sidestepped through the gap and made his way into the lounge, hoping that the boy would have the common sense to follow or leave because now it was awkward.

He took a seat on the plump sofa that faced the fire, feeling himself bounce a little as if it was a trampoline. All of his furniture was so weird, he realised as he beckoned the attractive young man to sit with him.
